Link building is not dead yet in an interview with John Mueller, he points out that “We do use links as part of our algorithm but we use lots and lots of other factors as well. The key word in john’s statement was “only”. If you focus all your SEO efforts on just link building it would not produce great result in fact it can be disastrous. But in other hand by neglecting links completely in your SEO efforts and ranking could be detrimental as well.
